In $\mathrm{MgCl}_{2}, \mathrm{Mg}$ is $s p$-hybridised but in $\mathrm{SnCl}_{2}, \mathrm{Sn}$ is $s p^{2}$ hybridised. $s p$-hybridised molecules are linear whereas $s p^{2}$-hybridised molecules are angular.\ Solid $\mathrm{CO}_{2}$ is called dry ice because solid $\mathrm{CO}_{2}$ sublimes and leaves no stains on surface.\
