(a): Element with atomic number 9 is fluorine.\ 5 electrons can have spin $(+1 / 2)$ and 4 electrons can have spin (-1/2). The last electron can go to any orbital ( $p_{x}, p_{y}$ or $p_{z}$ ) with $n=2, l=1$. Number of angular nodes are given by ' $l$ ' i.e. there is one angular node for $p$-orbital. Also, $l =0$ for $s$-orbitals hence, sum of angular nodes for all the atomic orbitals is 3 .\
